On Saturday 3rd June 2006, the Dunes parkland was the venue of a community celebration of the final release of beachfront allotments, and the hand over of the landscaped central parkland to the community and local residents.
The community celebrated with a free sausage sizzle at the park, along with entertainment for the kids and a live broadcast from Sea FM and Hot FM radio stations.
The Rotary Club of Mackay was present along with PRD Nationwide staff to assist with inquiries on the fantastic beachfront allotments. Already 5 of the 11 beachfront allotments released are under contract since the event!
